Intro
In this post, I will be describing how to add a website to the home page of your Android phone or to the Start Screen of your Windows Phone. Add the
websites you visit frequently or want to access faster, to your Home
page or Start Screen. From there, you can just click on the Icon/Tile
to go directly to the website. It is so cool since you can open a site
just like you are opening an App on a single click.
Android
First we will see how to add a site to the home page of your Android Smartphone.
For that:
Step 1: Open the site in 'Google Chrome' browser, which is the built-in browser in latest releases of Android.
Step 2: Then click on the options icon (three vertical dots on top of the browser -Fig.1- or three small lines on the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen -Fig.2- on some versions).

Step 3: Click on 'Add to Homepage' option on the options list.
Step 4: Then give an appropriate name to the website icon and save.
Step 5: Now
go to the homepage of your smartphone by pressing the 'Home Button' on
the navigation bar. You can see the Icon/Favicon of the website on your
Homepage.
Click/tap on it to directly open the site without any hassles of typing.
Windows Phone
Now
we will see how to add the tile of an important website to the
beautiful Start Screen of your Lumia or any other WindowsPhone
smartphones.
Step 1: Open the site in I.E by typing the website URL in the URL field.
Step 2: Click on the three horizontal-dots (...) on the right-bottom of your screen to open the options.
Step 3: Now tap on the 'pin to start' option.
Step 4:And
in a second or two, you will see the tile of the site on your start
screen. You can now place it anywhere on the screen as you wish.
A tap on this tile will take you to the website directly on the I.E.
