Yesterday, I signed up for a discounted hosting at iPage
and transferred one of my blogs there. When it came to upload my
backups (which were in zipped format), I got shocked that the unzipping
option was missing in file manager of iPage. I was using iPage’s control
panel (vDeck Panel) for the first time and it dissatisfied me a lot.
After analyzing features in iPage file manager, I contacted the support
and asked them either I can unzip my compressed files from file manager
or not.
Before the support could reply me, I
found the option in control panel and now writing this short tutorial to
help you by thinking that you may also face the problem if you are
using iPage’s control panel for the first time and are not familiar with
it. Otherwise uploading uncompressed files takes very long and zipped
uploads not only save your time, but it also conserves your bandwidth
and makes your task of sorting files easy.

Steps to Unzip Files in iPage Control Panel
To unzip your compressed files in iPage’s control panel, follow below steps:- Login to your iPage control panel at http://ipage.com/controlpanel and upload your zipped files either through its inbuilt file manager uploader or through FTP
- After the upload completes, go to control panel homepage and go to Archive Gateway under “Additional Tools” section as shown in above screenshot
- After launching “Archive Gateway”, first choose zipped file by browsing your directories and then provide a path or destination directory to place extracted files. If you will leave the “Output Directory” path empty, files will be extracted in the same directory
- In last step, click “Unzip/Uncompress” button. You are all done!!

So this was the short tutorial to unzip
files in iPage’s vDeck panel. I hope now you understood how to unzip
compressed files in your iPage control panel. If you are still facing
any problems, ask me in comments.
